80 Main is the first residential building to be constructed in the Pioneer Square Review District in over a decade, bringing 45 much-needed market-rate apartments to the community. This multi-family, six-floor building offers one- and two-bedroom apartments and three live-work units on the ground floor with private garden entrances. Each apartment features high-end finishes and appliances, with many offering outdoor balconies. A green roof deck with entertainment amenities, offers 360° views of the city, Puget Sound, and the Olympic Mountains.
CLARK / BARNES provided architectural design and construction administration services for the new build project. The site was previously occupied by the Argens Lock & Safe Building, a non-contributing and non-historic warehouse constructed in 1951. The design of 80 Main incorporates materials, scale, and transparency sympathetic to the district’s typology, to blend a contemporary aesthetic with the rich history of the area’s late 19th century buildings.
