CLARK / BARNES recently held an in-house design contest focused on detached accessory dwelling units (DADUs). Over the space of 2.5 months, our designers were asked to create a comprehensive DADU design for an imaginary site, including perspective, site plans, and floorplans, which they presented to a C/B panel. The results were exceptionally creative and thoughtful, providing a stunning mix of functional spaces with enduring designs.

While the intent was to award one winner, the entries were so remarkable that the judging panel awarded three projects with shared first place and four projects with shared second place. Congratulations to all the winners for their provoking designs that provided unique programming and creative solutions for compact living with multifunctioning spaces. Well done to everyone who participated in the contest and submitted their extraordinary designs to our judging panel.
