Located on a 206,000-SF site at the north end of Lake Union, the Aleutian Spray Fisheries building includes a 60,000-SF office, below-grade parking, and space for boat moorings and vessel repair. The new space enables Aleutian to consolidate their cargo and administrative activities at one central site, creating a more streamlined business.
The building’s glazed envelope is conceived as a multi-faceted glass ‘gem’ resting at the water’s edge. CLARK / BARNES’ design deliberately angles the building towards the sun and takes advantage of views of the lake and downtown skyline.
Certified LEED Platinum, the building employs a variety of sustainable design options, including a 13,000-SF green roof, sun-shading devices, drought-tolerant landscaping, and recycled and regionally sourced building products and material selection.
